Dr Dharmesh Kaswala Gastroenterologist Oakhurst NJ
Dr. Dharmesh H Kaswala joined Monmouth Gastroenterology in 2019. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery at Prestigious B.J. Medical College, Gujarat University affiliated with Asia’s largest hospital, Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, He completed all his Internal Medicine training, Transplant Hepatology Fellowship, at University Hospital, Rutgers, NJ Medical School, formerly known as the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in Newark, NJ. He did clinical research GI fellowship training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA followed by Clinical GI fellowship at California Pacific Medical Center San Francisco, CA and UCSF (Academic Didactic Rotation), San Francisco, CA. He was also the administrative chief fellow during his Fellowship. He also had done advance endoscopy training at Robert wood Johnson University Hospital, RWJMS, New Brunswick, NJ. He is board certified to practice medicine and gastroenterology in New Jersey.
Licensed to practice medicine in NJ, NY, PA, MA and CA. Dr. Kaswala is affiliated with Advanced Endoscopy and Surgical Center in Eatontown NJ, Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch NJ and Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune NJ. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and the American Association of Study of Liver Disease (AASLD) and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
Dr. Kaswala has published several original research articles in peer-reviewed journals during his training. These include Celiac disease, IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), Liver transplant, alcoholic and non-alcoholic diseases and biliary and pancreatic disease.
Dr Kaswala has expertise in wide range of endoscopic procedure such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, therapeutic endoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tube placement, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), esophageal/enteral stent placement, capsule endoscopy, Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) of early tumors and treatment of Barrett’s Esophagus with ablation, Lactose intolerance test, Bacterial Overgrowth test, Lactose, fructose, lactulose breath test and fecal transplant.
