WARNING BEFORE READING! Please hold this article at least six feet from your face for social distancing and wear a mask. (Kidding).
If you have read any of my previous articles you know that I do not make any (serious) requests of my readers, other than using this Monmouth Health & Wellness site to find the best medical & wellness information in Monmouth County.
However, it is now time for me to make an exception.
As a Senior you know that you have probably seen and heard just about everything – that is before the insanity of 2020 and Covid-19. And, as if we have not seen enough craziness this
year, we are in the midst of a totally bizarre election year.
Well, here we are, and my request is a simple one. Regardless of party affiliation, preference of candidate, policies you may like or dislike, changes you prefer or not, please realize the importance of your vote.
With the aforementioned in mind, the Senior vote is an extremely important one. You witness this by the effort each Party and Candidate places on obtaining this vote.
You see your vote carries a lot of weight, in shaping our Nation and your Community. There is enough on the ballot for you to vote on. The choices vary based on location. Be it the Presidency, the Congress, the Senate, Mayor, Council, or the local School Board, plus a few questions, new regulations, or rules. Your opinion as expressed by your selections determines a lot. Should you fail to vote you forfeit decisions that can impact you and your life to others and that would be a shame.
As a Senior we have an obligation to be heard and not to sit by leaving a vote to others. Your voting participation might affect your personal health and wellness needs, your financial situation, taxes, and of course your retirement and in general your way of life.
So, with Election Day (November 3rd, 2020) moving quickly upon us, I urge you to please vote before the deadline, and if you are a Monmouth County Resident be sure to mail your completed ballot, or drop your ballot at an Official Ballot Box (listed on the Monmouth County Board of Election website), or hand it in person to an election official at your Board of Elections headquarters as soon as possible.
Remember that voting is truly the most important thing you can do, and your vote really counts! In advance, I sincerely thank you.
