Here we are in August. That’s right it’s August! You are probably asking who stole the first seven months of 2021? Great question. Maybe we simply wanted to distance ourselves as fast as possible from that horrific year of 2020. In so doing, we inadvertently breezed by the first two quarters of this year.
We are now a little past the midpoint of 2021 and hopefully feeling somewhat optimistic as to the remainder of 2021.
The good news is we are still in the summer months and that means we should take advantage and enjoy the numerous available outdoor activities. Whatever your chosen activity, from taking a new destination vacation, visiting a close by beach and walking on a boardwalk, taking a day trip to explore some of the exceptional areas of our Garden State, taking in an outdoor concert or a local sporting event, and of course there’s eating at one of New Jersey’s fantastic shore restaurants. Don’t forget to take lots of photos, your smartphone photos are great memories.
You can also enjoy many traditional summer related activities such as visiting a farm to purchase some local produce (corn, tomatoes, squash & blueberries are very popular summer items). Or you may prefer just riding a bicycle, walking to a neighborhood park, and of course there’s always swimming, golfing and tennis. Whatever the chosen activity there is much to do in the summer months, so let’s Hold On.
I feel we must cherish these warm beautiful days because we all know what’s behind door number two and that’s Mr. Old Man Winter. Not that I am Anti-Winter, but I honestly favor the various activity options provided in the summer months. Maybe it’s because I don’t enjoy shoveling ten or more inches of snow! Now, don’t get me wrong I truly enjoy a sunny and cold brisk winter day, but those days are usually rare.
And if thinking about the upcoming winter months is in the back of your mind, up come the subtle reminders that begin showing up on TV commercials, in Malls and in retail establishments as early as late August. Hello Halloween, Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanza, and of course New Year’s when we can once again repeat the cycle and look forward to the coming summer months.
So, I again urge you to HOLD ON TO SUMMER and enjoy every day!
