ELDER CLIMATE ACTIVISM – WORKING THE OVERTON WINDOW

March 18 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Elder Climate ActivismConversations and Deeper Engagement is a 90 minute program for elder climate activists limited to 40 participants. To encourage participant involvement, the workshop will not be recorded.

This month’s Presentation will be: Elder Climate Activism and Messaging. If we’re going to be effective activists, messaging is crucial. How do we shape our narratives in relationship to existing conversations that circulate through modern culture? In this presentation, Frank Forencich will share ideas about the Overton window, the so-called range of acceptable discourse in our homes, workplaces, educational institutions, and most especially, our conversations about the state of the planet. By understanding the Overton window, we can make our messaging more relevant, interesting, and powerful.

Admission is free.

Each session will address a different issue of importance for elder climate activists. Depending on the number of participatns, breakout rooms may be utilized.
