Chronic pain? Muscle tightness? Inflammation?
Most of us live with some sort of ailment related to the above. But what are you doing to alleviate the
aches, pain, or muscle fatigue? One of the ways to find relief and comfort is cupping therapy.
It involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction creates a negative pressure
environment that allows for myofascial decompression. This negative pressure lifts muscle fibers and
increases blood flow in the area.
Will I benefit from cupping therapy?
Almost anyone can benefit from cupping. It is used to treat lack of mobility, tight muscles, scars and
many diagnoses like headaches, tendinitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis, fibromyalgia, and release of trigger
points. Other benefits include reducing anxiety, improvement of varicose veins, improvement of
circulation, release of toxins and more. We will spend time learning your ailments and determine if
cupping therapy is the best course of treatment.
What does cupping therapy involve? Is it painful?
Cupping therapy is not painful! It may, however, cause temporary bruising (also known as ecchymosis),
swelling or soreness, depending on the person or amount of treatment done to certain areas. The spots
left behind typically fade after several days or a week.
Can I receive cupping therapy during my physical therapy, chiropractic, or acupuncture treatment?
Can I make a standalone appointment just for cupping?
Yes! And yes! Depending on your symptoms and individualized treatment plan, our practitioners can
utilize cupping therapy during your regularly scheduled physical therapy, chiropractic, or acupuncture
appointment. If you are not an active patient and just want to come in just for cupping, we can set you
up with a certified practitioner and they can determine if cupping is the right treatment option for you!
